Recent high school graduate, Emmanuel Cantey, tells the audience his academic plans for college a during a ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, June 3, 2021. Cantey received a scholarship in the amount of $500. He plans to go to North Carolina State University and study Statistics. For more than four decades the Whistle Stop Thrift Shop on MCAS Cherry Point has enabled the Cherry Point Spouses Club to donate a significant monetary value for scholarships and assistance awards to the MCAS Cherry Point community.
