Class of 2021 Cadet and new 2nd Lt. Tully Boylan stands in the center of his parents, Col. Gregory Boylan (left), the executive officer to the Superintendent, and Colleen Boylan (right) as they pin second lieutenant bars on Tully’s shoulders following the 2021 graduation ceremony on Saturday at West Point. Tully commissioning into officership makes him a third generation West Pointer within the Boylan family lineage. He is also a third generation Infantryman, and will be a third generation “Devil in Baggy Pants” in the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 82nd Airborne Division — a regiment that Gregory and his brother, USMA Class of 1984 Peter Boylan Jr. III, served and one that Tully’s grandfather, retired Maj. Gen. Peter Boylan Jr. II, commanded.
