U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Ospreys soar the skies in preparation to insert U.S. Marines during a simulated embassy reinforcement training on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, May 20, 2021. Marines with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st MEU conducted embassy reinforcement training to maintain readiness and refine security skill sets. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
