Meet U.S. Army Sergeant 1st. Class Michael Kendall (left), a platoon sergeant assigned to 2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and Private Amar Gluhić (right), an infantry soldier assigned to 1st Infantry Company, 1st Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Brigade in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team recently arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to conduct joint training with members of the Armed Forces of BiH for Immediate Response 21.
Kendall, originally from Jacksonville, Fla., is a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Deputy and was excited to connect with Gluhić, a fellow infantryman from BiH, on the Mossberg 500 tactical shotgun range at Manjača Training Area.
“It’s a great experience, I’m happy to be here, and I’m happy to have the BiH Armed Forces here,” Kendall said. “Everyone loves a boomstick!”
Kendell acted as the noncommissioned officer in charge of the tactical shotgun range, familiarizing and training both U.S. Soldiers and BiH Armed Forces on the weapon system.
Immediate Response 21 is part of DEFENDER-Europe 21. This multinational joint exercise will demonstrate and develop the extensive military capabilities that the U.S. and their partners have to prevent conflict, preserve peace and keep our nations safe.
