Jimmie Jaye Wells and other senior officials with the 75th Training Command participate in a ceremonial unit flag transfer in Houston, Texas, Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012. The transfer was part of an event recognizing the departure of Command Sgt. Maj. Luther Thomas, Jr., as well as the arrival of Command Sgt. Maj. Ronnie Farmer. Command sergeants major serve as the senior enlisted advisers to the commanding officers of large Army units. In Army tradition, the handing off of the flag, known as the guidon, symbolizes the orderly transition of leadership.
