U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jakeiba Williams, a Houma, Louisiana native and cable systems installer/maintainer with the 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade (2SFAB) stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, poses for a photo at the state-led, federally-supported Community Vaccination Center at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, May 10, 2021. Williams is part of a group of Soldiers assigned to the 2SFAB that are supporting the vaccination efforts in Milwaukee. Williams’s main responsibility is to help people schedule their second dose of the vaccine and direct them to where they need to go. This is the first COVID-19 support mission Williams has been a part of. “I like this mission, because it’s a different experience,” Williams said. “It’s not every day we get to give back directly to the people of the United States.” Williams joined the army, because his sister is in the Air Force and wanted to follow in her footsteps. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
