Staff Sgt. Robyn Sutton and Spc. Gretchen Smith, musicians in the 484th Army Band, laugh as they look over each other's zeroing targets at the baffle range. Soldiers from the 484th Army Band, 350th Public Affairs Detachment, and 368th Public Affairs Detachment conducted weapons qualification on a Baffled Range at the U.S. Army Joliet Training Center, April 24. Baffle ranges have barriers to contain bullets and to reduce, re-direct or suppress sound waves and possible stray bullets. Baffles are placed either overhead, alongside or at ground level to restrict or interrupt errant or off target shots.
