Army Pfc. Samantha Foster, of the 211th Military Police Company, fires a 9 mm pistol in the kneeling position at a range here, during the Operation Panther training exercise, Aug. 27, 2012. Foster, a native of Greenville, S.C., is gaining experience as a North Carolina Army National Guard military policeman. She is planning to pursue a law enforcement career in the civilian sector. Operation Panther is preparing soldiers for real-world scenarios and supporting Mecklenburg County civil authorities for the Democratic National Convention, Sept. 3-6, 2012.
