U.S. Air Force Senior Airman McClanahan, a Poca, West Virginia, native and medical technician with the 88th Inpatient Squadron, 88th Air Base Wing stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, unpackages and assembles syringes at the state-led, federally-supported Community Vaccination Center at Ford Field in Detroit, April 27, 2021. McClanahan is part of a group of Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. McClanahan’s main responsibility is supporting the local community members by administering COVID-19 vaccinations and assisting in the pharmacy when needed. McClanahan said, “I’m happy to help and give back to a community that really needs it.” McClanahan is ready to provide a helping hand to the community of Detroit.
