U.S. Air Force Senior Airman McClanahan, a Poca, West Virginia, native and medical technician with the 88th Inpatient Squadron, 88th Air Base Wing stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, unpackages and assembles syringes at the state-led, federally-supported Community Vaccination Center at Ford Field in Detroit, April 27, 2021. McClanahan is part of a group of Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. McClanahan’s main responsibility is supporting the local community members by administering COVID-19 vaccinations and assisting in the pharmacy when needed. McClanahan said, “I’m happy to help and give back to a community that really needs it.” McClanahan is ready to provide a helping hand to the community of Detroit. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
