Sky Soldiers float down to the landing zone during sustained airborne training with the Esercito Italiano Alpini Paracadutisti Rangers at Juliet Drop Zone in Maniago, Italy. Training like this allows both allies to gain confidence in each other's equipment and procedures, and helps build the bonds of interoperability between both Armies.
Afterwards, there was a wing exchange ceremony for both U.S. and Italian paratroopers and they were awarded with each nations parachutist badge pinned by both forces respective leaders.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States Europe, Africa and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
