L.t. j.g. Torrey Jacobsen, the operations officer aboard the 225-foot Coast Guard Cutter Juniper, homeported in Newport, R.I., reads a distress scenario to Lt. Jason James and Petty Officer 2nd Class Nicole Goodrich, also crewmembers aboard the Juniper, while James adheres simulated wounds to Goodrich while underway off Greenland's west coast Friday, Sept. 7, 2012. For the scenario, crewmembers from the Knud Rasmussen, a Danish naval ship, went aboard Juniper and served as emergency responders to a simulated fire and medical casualties as part of an Arctic deployment to enhance interoperability with international forces and to provide the experience of working and responding to incidents in the harsh Arctic environment.
