Petty Officer 3rd Class Daniel West, an electrician's mate aboard the 225-foot Coast Guard Cutter Juniper, homeported in Newport, R.I., and Philip Bentham, an able seaman aboard the HMCS Kingston, a Kingston-class defense vessel in the Royal Canadian Navy, paint a daycare in Pond Inlet, Nunavut, in the Arctic, Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012. The Juniper's crew is on an Arctic deployment to enhance interoperability with international forces and to provide the experience of working and responding to incidents in the harsh Arctic environment.
