Soldiers from the 887th Engineer Company, out of Augusta, Ga., conduct heavy-lifting exercises by moving large blocks of cement across a course, Aug. 31, in Raleigh, N.C. The course the soldiers worked on is a 10,000 square-foot rubble pile used by civilian search-and-rescue teams. The soldiers are part of a search-and-rescue unit and were working side by side with civilian firefighters from Raleigh, Fayetteville and Cary, N.C. as a part of North Carolina's Vigilant Guard training exercise.
