U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Lee Mills, JBER and 673d ABW command chief, don protective gear before participating in the sterilization process for 673d Surgical Operations Squadron’s surgical instruments during a 673d SGCS immersion tour at JBER, Alaska, Sept. 29, 2020. Aguilar familiarized herself with the 673d SGCS and its role in supporting readiness after taking command of the installation July 14, 2020. The 673d SGCS provides a full range of medical care to include surgical and non-surgical intervention to JBER and the greater Anchorage area.
