Marine Corps Base Butler explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technicians assist Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) explosive ordnance disposal technicians with final preparations before the destruction of unexploded ordnance (UXO) on Ie Shima Training Facility (ISTF), Okinawa, Japan, April 6, 2021. Over the last five years, UXOfound on Iejima has been stored awaiting destruction. At the request of the Ie Village office mayor, JGSDF and MCBB EOD technicians conducted combined operations to destroy these hazards.
