Spc. Fatima Chan, a human resources clerk assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 759th Military Police Battalion, receives her first COVID-19 vaccination at the William Reed Special Events Center on Fort Carson, Colorado, April 1, 2021. Chan was initially hesitant to receive the vaccination, but she changed her mind after seeing her loved ones benefit from the vaccine.
“I was initially unsure if I wanted to get the COVID vaccination,” said Chan. “But I saw my family and teammates getting the vaccine, and it was a good thing for them. I wanted to help protect them as well.”
Chan received her first vaccine dose with two of her fellow soldiers from the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment who had also initially declined the vaccine but then decided to get vaccinated. (U.S. Army photos by Spc. Julia C. Scott)
