    Federal Vaccine Response

U.S. Public Health Service Cmdr. Christine Machon, an Annapolis, Maryland, native and pharmacist with the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps stationed in Washington, D.C., poses during a break at the state-led, federally-supported Ford Field COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center in Detroit, March 25, 2021. Machon works with a group of U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. Machon’s main responsibility is drawing up vaccines and pharmacy support at the CVC. Machon said, “I love having a direct impact on the community to help people get back to normal.” Machon has never been to Detroit, and on her off time she plans to explore the river walk. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
