The Vietnam Veterans Memorial honors the sacrifices and dedication of the U.S. service members who served during the Vietnam War. The memorial is located at the Lejeune Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, North Carolina. National Vietnam War Veterans Day is recognized on March 29th, because on this day in 1973, Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) was disbanded and the last U.S. combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam.
