PACIFIC OCEAN (March 26, 2021) U.S. Navy Senior Chief Boatswain’s Mate Herns Brilliant, the deck department leading chief petty officer aboard San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Portland (LPD 27), observes an empty well deck during a tactical surface offload. U.S. Navy and Marine Corps integration training provides the Essex Amphibious Ready Group/11th Marine Expeditionary Unit its first opportunity to plan, brief, and execute multiple mission packages.
