The U.S. Army large landing craft USAV Monterrey (LCU 2030) sails through Women's Bay June 15, 2012, after being refloated from Puffin Island near Kodiak, Alaska. The vessel struck an underwater rock June 8, 2012, breaching the hull and causing more than 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel to leak into the bay. Coast Guard crews placed oil containment booms around the craft, which was later towed to Seward, Alaska, for permanent repairs to its hull.
