210311-N-XT033-1006 IWAKUNI, Japan (March 11, 2021) Equipment Operator 3rd class Maya Bradshaw, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, ground-guides Sgt. Colton Manning, assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 171, to remove the excess material from the road. NMCB-4 and MWSS 171 are constructing a drainage ditch as part of the Landfill Cap and Closure Project to mitigate bird strikes on U.S. and Japanese aircraft. NMCB-4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and the United States ready to support major combat operations, theater security, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations.
