Iraq’s Ministry of Defense Special Forces Directorate received more than $8 million of vehicles, maintenance equipment, weapons and ammunition from a U.S.-led program called the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, on March 16, 2021. The goal of CTEF is to join U.S. and coalition forces together with Iraqi Security Forces to defeat Daesh and ensure long-term stability in the region.
