SAN ANTONIO - (March 9, 2021) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Brandon Rodriguez, of San Antonio, a talent scout assigned to Navy Talent Onboarding Center (TAOC) Alamo City, was presented with a thank you letter from the Secretary of Defense by Rear Adm. Dennis Velez, commander, Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) at Navy Recruiting Station Southeast San Antonio. Rodriguez was one of two Sailors recognized for their actions on Nov. 5, 2020 for providing vital medical care to a gunshot victim near one of their assigned high schools. Joining Velez at the presentation were NRC Command Master Chief Rick Moreyra and National Chief Recruiter, Master Chief Navy Counselor Heather Charara. The NRC leadership team visited Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) San Antonio’s area of responsibility to oversee mission accomplishment and check on the welfare of Sailors. NRC consists of a command headquarters, three Navy Recruiting Regions, 26 NTAGs, and 64 Talent Acquisition Onboarding Centers (TAOCs) that serve more than 1,000 recruiting stations around the world.
