Vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. James A. “Sandy” Winnefeld Jr. receives a jersey from Jim Folk, vice president of ballpark operations of the Cleveland Indians baseball team during game opening ceremonies. In exchange, Winnefeld returned to Folk the battle flag flown on the amphibious transport dock USS Cleveland (LPD 7) before the ship’s decommissioning. The Cleveland Indians played the Oakland As during the Navy’s commemoration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812 in Cleveland. The celebration coincides with Cleveland Navy Week, one of 15 signature events planned across America in 2012. The weeklong event commemorates the bicentennial of the War of 1812, hosting service members from the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy.
