Krista McDermid and Lucas Pustka from Zara Environmental work with the Joint Base San Antonio Natural Resource office to help monitor threatened and endangered troglobite species inside caves Jan. 13, 2021, at JBSA-Camp Bullis, Texas. A troglobite is an animal that is specially adapted to living underground, spending their entire lives in caves. Camp Bullis has three troglobitic karst invertebrates, two beetles and a spider, along with cave crickets that are being monitored on a daily basis. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tristin English)
