Afghan security forces clear Nangal Valley, Kunar [Image 6 of 8]
U.S. and Afghan security forces vehicles co-locate to create a combined tactical command post during an Afghan-planned and led operation to clear insurgent forces from the Nangal Valley in northern Kunar province, Afghanistan. The combined TOC allowed both Afghan and ISAF security forces to maintain up-to-date situational awareness of the progress of the clearance mission. The Afghan security forces captured several insurgents and weapons during the Afghan-planned and led operation Aug. 24, 2012.
