Senior Airmen Johnny Vaughan, a loadmaster and Tech. Sgt. Bart Panighetti, an air cargo specialist, both from the 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard load a container of equipment for the Modular Airborne Firefighting System on to one of the units C-130 Js at the Boise tanker base in preparation for re-deployment to McClellan Air Force Base near Sacramento, Calif., Aug. 14, 2012. The unit has been fighting fires in the area around Boise for the past couple of weeks and was replaced by MAFFS capable units from the 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard and the 302nd Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve from Colorado Springs, Colorado. The 146th Airlift Wing will be joined by the MAFFS equipped C-130 from the 145 Airlift Wing, North Carolina Air National Guard in California to help fight the growing fire threat there.
