    Vermont Senator Visits Vermont Soldiers in Washington D.C.

    Senator Patrick Joseph Leahy is the senior United States Senator from Vermont, and President pro tempore of the United States Senate. The Senator visited with some of his constituents on the Capitol grounds on Friday, January 22. Those constituents are members of the Vermont Army National Guard's 172nd Cavalry Regiment, 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain), headquartered in Jericho, Vermont. The Soldiers are in the Capitol to conduct security, communication, and logistical missions in support of federal and District authorities leading up and through the 59th Presidential Inauguration.
