An Air Tractor 802F "Fire Boss" Air Tanker modified with amphibious water scooping floats pulls into the Boise Air Tanker Base, Aug. 11, 2012 to be loaded with retardant. The Fire Boss is assisting the U.S. Forest Service with wildfire suppression in the Great Basin region near Boise, and is equipped with a specialized set of amphibious floats for "touch and go" scooping of water from lakes, rivers, reservoirs and bodies of water near wildfires. There are 57 in operation throughout the world, with most of the aircraft working in Europe and Canada.
