Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy, the adjutant general of New York, with members of the 1st Battalion 68th Infantry of the New York Army Guard who served as caddies for professional golfers during Military Appreciation Day event at The Barclay’s PGA Tour golf tournament at Bethpage State Park on Wednesday, Aug. 22. The PGA sponsored a special baby shower for 40 expecting wives of deployed soldiers –including five spouses of New York Army National Guard soldiers—as part of the events. Service members were also invited to caddy for the professional golfers and sic members of the New York Army and Air National Guard took advantage of that opportunity.
