210125-M-JO645-1045 ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 25, 2021) – U.S. Marines with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Sailors assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) load personnel and tactical vehicles onto Landing Craft, Air Cushion 90 assigned to Assault Craft Unit 5 in the ship's well deck. San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, and the 15th MEU are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
