PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 16, 2020) –Chief Warrant Officer Timothy Yarrington, right, the damage control assistant aboard USS San Diego (LPD 22), alerts the ship’s repair lockers with damage control updates from the central control station during a general quarters drill aboard the amphibious transport dock ship, while Lt. Cmdr. Allan Jones, the ship’s chief engineer, observes him. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are currently conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
