A CV-22 Osprey, assigned to the 20th Special Operations Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., takes off from the desert outside of Fort Sumner, N.M., Dec. 11, 2020. The CV-22 had suffered an in-flight emergency and had to land in the middle of the desert. For the next three months, maintainers from Cannon worked on the aircraft to get it up and running, and back to the base. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Michael Washburn)
