Kilisut Harbor Restoration:
A decades-long community partnership, spearheaded by the North Olympic Salmon Coalition and supported by the U.S. Navy, has restored the historic tidal channel that runs from Oak Bay into Kilisut Harbor.
This effort will yield long-lasting benefits for the area’s ecosystem and will ultimately create an estimated 2,300 acres of productive habitat in Puget Sound.
Security Notice:
All land to the north of the bridge and to the west of the tidal channel is federal property that falls within NMII’s boundaries. This area is not open to the public due to the installation’s security requirements. Please be aware of the strong currents under the bridge that can inadvertently direct mariners in the direction of installation property.
