The old structure of the Rubicon Point Lighthouse sits 200 feet above Lake Tahoe on the south west shore. It was built in 1919 under the direction of the U.S. Lighthouse Service and was the highest elevation for a lighthouse at the time, sitting at approximately 6,500 ft MSL.
