U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Steve Catchings, 908th Airlift Wing chief of safety, uses an anemometer July 11, 2020, at Buzz drop zone near Autaugaville, Alabama. Catchings used the anemometer to calculate the wind’s direction and strength to relay to the C-130 Hercules’s navigator for them to calculate the final ballistic wind for the planned airdrop.
