A crew chiefs boots sit under an F-16 during his intake inspection on the flightline at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Nov. 25, 2020. Crew chiefs remove their boots for intake inspections to minimize damage and ease of crawling in the narrow space. The intake inspection is to ensure that all of the aircraft’s parts are in place, the aircraft parts are in mission-ready condition out and to make sure that there is no Foreign Object Debry entering the intake that could cause damage to the aircraft.
