Corporal Brandon Biggerstaff, landing support specialist, Landing Support Section, Transportation Support Detachment, Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, watches as the USS Rushmore leaves San Diego, to begin the 15th MEU’s Certification Exercise, Aug. 15. The CERTEX is the MEU’s final training exercise before deploying later this year. The two-week training evolution evaluates the unit’s ability to complete missions it may face while forward deployed.
