    82nd Training Wing

Col. Brian Stumpe, center, 2nd Air Force vice commander, talks to Airmen in Training (AiT) and Military Training Leaders (MTL) at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, Dec. 2, 2020. During his immersion tour, Stumpe got a quick glimpse into the world of Sheppard's training. Here he met the MTLs and the AiT Leaders (Ropes.) The MTLs are the ones who oversee the massive AiT population at the dorms and they enlist Ropes to help them. The color of the rope around their arm indicates their role in the Airmen Leadership Program, be it leading their peers and or being a trusted confidant.
