Major General Michael S. Cederholm speaks with Sandy Arturi at the Whistle Stop Thrift Store aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Dec. 7, 2020. Cederholm visited the installation’s thrift store to commend volunteers such as Arturi for their time and dedication while continuing to serve the on-base community during a pandemic. The Whistle Stop Thrift Shop’s profits generated by sales provide scholarships for military dependents as well as financial assistance to local, regional, and national organizations. Arturi is the manager of the Whistle Stop Thrift Shop. Cederholm is the commanding general for the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, which is the air combat element for the II Marine Expeditionary Force.
