John Nadeau, the commander of the Eighth Coast Guard District, provided a speech in commemoration of Coast Guard Cutter White Alder during the 52nd Anniversary Memorial Ceremony at the U.S.S. Kidd Veterans Museum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, December 7, 2020. On this day, 52 years ago, 17 Coast Guardsmen lost their lives when the White Alder sank in the lower Mississippi River.
