Staff Sgt. Justin Day, lead instructor and member of Bravo Company, 45th Air Missile Defense, and an assistant instructor show the class proper technique prior to allowing the soldiers to practice on one another during Modern Army Combatives Program Level One training at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Aug. 6-10. "Soldiers now have a high propensity for engaging a combatant very close, hand-to-hand, within arms reach. The problem is these combatants are very well trained, at least some of them are. These skills could potentially save their lives or that of someone else," said 1st Sgt. Wilfrid Chapdelaine of the 160th Signal Brigade.
