Olivia Baez, 99th Wing Civil Engineer Squadron natural resource manager, and Sara Schuster, large mammal biologist with Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands, compile and cross-reference field notes collected during desert bighorn sheep surveys at the Sundance Helicopters Hangar in Nevada, Nov. 15, 2020. A total of 97 desert bighorn sheep were accounted for on the North Range during the 2020 fall survey. In 2018, 105 desert bighorn sheep were accounted for. Although only 13 were accounted for on Nov. 15, the metapopulation numbers are similar to what was found in 2018. More discussion and analysis of this data is to come in the 2020 annual report.
