FORT BENNING, Ga. – Staff. Sgt. Lynette Eriacho, a Soldier of Navajo and Apache descent, with her 10-year-old daughter Diedra, at Fort Benning Nov. 17. Eriacho, who was born and raised in New Mexico, recently completed a two-year assignment here as a drill sergeant training recruits for the Infantry. She says telling others about the Navajo culture, along with the Army's participation in annual observances of Native American Heritage Month each November, helps foster cultural insight across a diverse military.
