Tech. Sgt. Cory Shaw, 138th Fighter Wing, recruiter, completed his fifth consecutive 13.1-mile half-marathon, carrying an extra 60-pound ruck, in a little over three hours.
"Rucking this year was special because I wanted to honor Tech. Sgt. Marshal Roberts who our unit lost earlier this year in Iraq," said Shaw.
Roberts was a member of the 219th Engineering Installation Squadron, 138th Fighter Wing and is the first Oklahoma Air National Guardsman to be killed in action since 9/11.
"Today we rucked to honor his ultimate sacrifice by carrying the Air Force, 219th EIS and American flags," said Shaw.
