Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, hired contractors from Scott Lawn Yard worked to install approximately 1300 1-gallon shrubs and 20 1-gallon trees at the Katherine Street Submerged Aquatic Vegetation site in Buffalo, NY, on Nov. 6.
This is the first of three years that the contract is planting shrubs and trees. Katherine Street began last summer, but this is the first big task where the Buffalo District is not just physically shaping the Buffalo River shoreline but actually bringing new life to the area with native plants. The project is partnered with the EPA.
