    Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Boyle, the 1-229th Assault Reconnaisance Battalion command sergeant major, unveils the Crandall Hall placard during the 1-229th ARB building dedication at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Nov. 13, 2020. 1-229th ARB dedicated its battalion headquarters to retired Col. Bruce Crandall, an aviation pioneer and former commander of Company A, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, received the Medal of Honor for his actions as a pilot during the Battle of Ia Drang in South Vietnam.
