PORT HUENEME, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2020) Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1 run a socially-distanced 5K race at Naval Base Ventura County-Point Huenemene, Calif., Nov. 8. EODGRU-1 is currently participating in a Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Integrated Exercise (NIEX), which simulates mission planning and events the staff might encounter if deployed. Operating from Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif., EODGRU-1 oversees the manning training and equipping of EOD Mobile Units 1, 3, 5 and 11; Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 1; EOD Expeditionary Support Unit 1; and EOD Training and Evaluation Unit 1.
