201029-M-UV498-2463 PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 29, 2020) – U.S. Navy Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Austin Washington, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), directs an MH-60S Sea Hawk assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23 for landing on the flight deck of the ship. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are currently conducting at-sea training events in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
