U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Nicholas Brunetto, left, 38th Rescue Squadron pararescueman, prepares for the virtual Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala Oct. 27, 2020, at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. U.S. Army Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recognized Staff Sgt. Nicholas Brunetto, 38th Rescue Squadron pararescueman, as one of the Angels of the Battlefield Award recipients. Brunetto was the U.S. Air Force’s recipient of the annual award for his acts of heroism and courage on the battlefield while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and the Resolute Support mission.
